SCCJR have been involved in 2 substantial projects about the problems of knife carrying and youth gang activity among young adults in Scotland. This work has been commissioned and recetnly published by the Scottish Government.
The first publication, "Troublesome Youth Groups, Gangs and Knife Carrying in Scotland" explores the nature and extent of youth gang activity and knife carrying in Scotland . Click here to access the report
The second publication "Gang Membership and Knife Carrying: Findings from The Edinburgh Study of Youth Transitions and Crime" looks at the nature and extent of youth gang activity and knife carrying based on data collected by the Edinburgh Study of Youth Transitions. Both these publications suggests policy recoommendations to address these issues.
