SCCJR invites active researchers working on issues of crime or criminal justice to apply to become associates of SCCJR. This is an opportunity to join a vibrant group of academic researchers, forge new research partnerships and expand research networks. Associate researchers have the opportunity to engage in collaborative research, contribute to knowledge exchange and participate in the wider intellectual life of SCCJR.
To be eligible to join the Scottish Centre for Crime and Justice Research as an Associate Researcher you must be actively researching in the area of crime or criminal justice AND be:
Based in one of the consortium universities (Edinburgh, Edinburgh Napier, Glasgow, Stirling and Strathclyde)
OR
Secure nomination from one of SCCJR’s Co-Directors, Network Leaders or Senior Research Fellows.
SCCJR is developing into an internationally recognised research centre, producing methodologically rigorous and high quality research which is increasingly gaining attention in academic, as well as policy and practitioner circles. It is an opportunity to join a vibrant group of academic researchers, forge new research partnerships and expand research networks. Being an Associate Researcher brings a number of benefits. Associate Researchers have the opportunity to engage in collaborative research, contribute to knowledge exchange, and participate in the wider intellectual life of SCCJR.
SCCJR can provide guidance and assistance on developing research proposals but please note that prior approval of the SCCJR Executive Committee is required before research proposals submitted by Associate Researchers can be labelled as SCCJR projects.
Prospective Associate Researchers must complete an application form and either secure nomination from an SCCJR staff member or select a specific SCCJR research network through which to apply for associate status, details on the application form. Send completed forms to enquiries@sccjr.ac.uk
Applications will be assessed by SCCJR’s Director and/or Associate Directors. Assessment of your application will be in terms of its potential to contribute to the key objectives of SCCJR and the wider intellectual life of the Centre.
