This is the first workshop in the 2022 series of s which are co-organised by Professor Richard Sparks, SCCJR/University of Máximo Sozzo from Universidad Nacional del Litoral, Argentina.
Dr. Julienne Weegels is assistant professor of Latin American Studies at the University of Amsterdam. She has conducted extensive research inside and around Nicaragua’s prison system, working with prisoners, former prisoners, and (former) political prisoners.
Her research focuses on (former) prisoners’ experience of imprisonment and the state, the politics of (dis)order, and practices of justice from below.
