The NISPAC is a transnational research community network funded by the Scottish Funding Council under the Global Challenges Research Fund that brings together a diverse group of researchers to explore the role of intelligence services in African countries, and harness the combined insights of the humanities and social sciences to refine scholarly and policy understandings of intelligence and security across Africa. NISPAC provides a forum for interdisciplinary discussions on different approaches to intelligence research on and in African countries. This includes investigating the cultural and historical contexts of attitudes towards intelligence in African countries, and contemporary debates on security sector reform.
