This collaborative project between the Scottish Community Safety Network and the Universities of Glasgow, Dundee and Edinburgh aims to support the delivery of community safety interventions across Scotland. A key output is the production of a high quality website designed to support the building of practitioner capacity. The website contains ‘Practice Notes’, in which community safety practitioners share their experiences of managing community safety projects, and ‘Effective interventions’, which are reviews of community safety initiatives that have been demonstrated to hold positive outcomes. The project also supports 7 community safety practitioner fellowships located across the University partners. The placements are intended to support the evaluation and dissemination of local practice. The project began in June 2009 and is due to finish in September 2010.
