Working title of PhD: Human Trafficking in Scotland

Full or part-time: Full-time

Year Commenced: 2022

PhD Supervisors: Maria Fotopoulou and Paul Rigby

Synopsis of PhD:

My current research is looking into human trafficking in Scotland. In particular, the occurrence of this crime and who are the most targeted groups. Furthermore, my research is aiming to better understand the health care system and general help that people with lived experience of trafficking have access to and if these reflect their needs. I am looking into whether the system itself is actually retraumatising instead of helping them. I would like to hear the prospective of both people who have been trafficked and the health care providers who directly work with them.
