Rachelle joined SCCJR in December 2017 as the Communications Officer for the Centre.

She has a PgDip in Journalism from the University of Strathclyde and won a fellowship to work for the Sunday Herald and Big Issue Scotland magazine for one year after completing her studies. She then continued her career in journalism writing for a variety of Scottish titles before moving on to professional communications.

As part of her role Rachelle develops, leads, and coordinates all SCCJR’s communications activities to enhance the Centre’s profile and reputation. She is also the host and producer of the Just Humans podcast.

She has an MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice which she completed in 2010 from the University of Strathclyde and University of Glasgow.

Away from SCCJR Rachelle worked with Inside Justice (2019-2024), a charity that investigates miscarriages of justice and continues to contribute articles on this subject area.
