Emma is the Policy and Public Affairs Adviser at Howard League Scotland (HLS), maintaining an up-to-date evidence base on criminal matters through primary and secondary research; influencing policy makers, public and media via research briefings; and researching and advocating constructive policies of crime prevention and rehabilitation.

Emma is also a tutor in Criminology; Criminal Justice; and Global Crime at Edinburgh University Law School.
