Richard’s research focuses on surveillance, security, resilience, cybercrime and cyber security, and the sociology of punishment.
Among the areas on which he has published are the electronic monitoring of offenders, police body-worn cameras, the policing of cybercrime, penal populism, resilience theory, and the impact of surveillance on privacy and democracy.
