Institution: University of Glasgow
Full time or Part time: Full time
Funding Source: Self-funded
Year Commenced: 2022
PhD Supervisors: Oona Brooks-Hay and Catherine Happer
Synopsis of PhD:
By conducting interviews with high-profile true crime creators, the project will seek to gain first-hand insights into how gender-based violence is understood and represented by those who turn it into narrativised content. It will seek answers about the extent to which they explore sociocultural causes for the events they discuss, the consideration given to victims and their families in collecting information, and whether they understand singular instances of murder as symptomatic of a wider culture.
