sharjil2The SCCJR is delighted to be hosting a visit by Commonwealth Scholar Sharjil Kharal of the Police Service of Pakistan.

Sharjil is ranked as a Deputy Inspector General and currently works for the Sindh Police force based in Karachi. He has a Batchelor’s degree in law (LLB) from the University of London, and MSc in Criminology from the University of Sindh and a Master’s degree in Law (LLM) from the University of Nottingham. He has written extensively on human rights, law enforcement and criminal justice, and very recently compiled a hand book on Forensic Investigation for the training needs of his force.

While in Glasgow he is researching “The challenges to forensic investigation in Pakistani law enforcement: A way forward”. He intends to meet Scottish police forces, representatives from the courts, and leading academics in the area of forensic science in order to learn from their experience, build links, and improve his forensic investigation skills.
