The Scottish Centre for Crime and Justice Research has today launched a new podcast called ‘Just Humans’.

The series will introduce listeners to the criminologists who make the Centre, their lives and work and what inspires them.

Hosted by Dr Alistair Fraser, Director of SCCJR, it will explore a number of themes with guests on episodes which will be released every two weeks.

The first guest is Dr Anna Souhami, University of Edinburgh, who discusses her work on policing in Shetland and how darkness impacts people’s daily lives including how local police officers do their work.

Other guests this season include; Prof Laura Piacentini (University of Strathclyde), Dr Phil Crockett Thomas (University of Glasgow), Dr Louise Brangan (University of Stirling) and a bonus episode about crime and punishment in Glasgow as told through the People’s Palace.
