fergus2Professor Fergus McNeill will join a panel of experts at a SASO event in Glasgow this week to discuss the Scottish Government’s current consultation about extending the presumption against short prison sentences from three to 12 months.

The event, titled The End of Short Prison Sentences?, will take place on Thursday December 3rd at 6.30pm at St George’s Tron church on Buchanan Street. It will be chaired by the Hon Lady Rae, QC, and also feature contributions from Bruce Milne/Sean McKendrick ofSocial Work Scotland, Professor Cyrus Tata of Strathclyde University and a speaker offering a victim’s perspective.

Suggested contribution towards the cost of the event is £5 (£1 student/unwaged). Please email info@sastudyoffending.org.uk if you plan to attend.
