SCCJR’s Michele Burman and Susan Batchelor, with Mo Hume (Glasgow University) has been awarded funds from the Adam Smith Research Foundation to conduct a series of focused research workshops on the theme of Gender and Emotions in Research Fieldwork. Whilst there is an increasing body of conceptual work on the role of emotions in research, the methodological implications of the incorporation of emotions into the conduct of research has been paid relatively little attention. These workshops will explore key methodological challenges in a relatively new area of research, and will act as a springboard to develop further work in the area. There will be planning meeting in May (date tbc) to which all interested parties are invited. Further details of workshop dates and speakers will be announced on the SCCJR web-site.
