A two-day symposium will take place this summer to consider the methodological and ethical dimensions of conducting health-focused social science research through and beyond prison settings.

The event will be hosted by the MRC/CSO Social and Public Health Sciences Unit, at its offices in Glasgow city centre on May 18 and at HMP Barlinnie on May 19.

Papers are invited from students, researchers, practitioners and service users from a range of disciplines (including medical sociology, medical anthropology, criminology, public health). Abstracts of up to 300 words are invited. Click here for the call for papers.

Contact Matthew Maycock if you have any questions about the symposium:matthew.maycock@glasgow.ac.uk.

Registration for the symposium is free, and booking can be made via Eventbrite.
