Our popular Learning Resources for Schools is back and better than ever.

Over the last few months our team of researchers have been busy updating each of briefing papers, making some additions and have even filmed short videos to complement each topic.

These resources have been especially made for Modern Studies learners at National 5 or Higher level and reflect some of the most popular topics that previous students have decided to write about in their assignments and dissertations. Therefore, these resources do not cover the entire Modern Studies curriculum, but are linked specifically to popular areas of research tied to the subject area of Crime and Law.

All the materials we have referenced come from trustworthy sources, such as academic research, government publications and other reputable institutions. For further guidance on carrying out your own research, and identifying credible and reliable sources, we strongly recommend you read SCCJR ‘Research methods and skills’.

A huge thanks to our team who pulled this resource together; Dr Kirstin Anderson, Siria Capezzani, Nicola Ceesay, Jessica Cleary, Dr Estelle Clayton, Dr Gemma Flynn, Dr Rebecca Foster, Dr Fern Gillon, Dr Hannah Graham, Iga Gumulinska, Professor Fergus McNeill, Dr Katrina Morrison, Dr Francesca Soliman, Tomasz Stupnicki, Jim Watson and to Karyn Mabon for facilitating the project.

And a special thanks to Keiran McCarroll, videographer at the University of Glasgow.

The Learning Resources for Schools are on our website now.
And all the videos can be played on our YouTube Channel.
