SCCJR is delighted to welcome five new internationally renowned criminological research centres and departments as partner institutions.

The new partnerships which have been formed with the Universities of Toronto, Oslo, Hong Kong as well as the Queensland University of Technology and the University of Leuven will solidify the Centre’s reputation for outstanding international collaboration.

The launch of a £3,500 international mobility fund will mark the introduction of the partnerships with up to £750 being offered to SCCJR staff, students and associates eager to visit any one of these institutions later this year. Applications are invited for inward or outward mobility to/from any SCCJR institution (Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling or Strathclyde), with funds to be committed by July 31st. Applications may come from SCCJR staff, postgraduate students, or from staff and postgraduate students at partner institutions, and must demonstrate the benefits to the individual and to SCCJR.

Alistair Fraser, Associate Director, who has led on developing the partnerships, said he hoped the further internationalisation of the SCCJR would promote inward and outward mobility between all institutions.

The five new partners are:

Crime and Justice Research Centre, Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane

Leuven Institute for Criminology, University of Leuven

Department of Sociology and Centre for Criminology, University of Hong Kong

Department of Criminology and Sociology of Law, University of Oslo

Centre for Criminology and Sociolegal Studies, University of Toronto

Applicants to the international mobility fund will be asked to provide a brief summary of the proposed activity, a breakdown of the costs you are likely to incur and a description of the outcomes you anticipate from the activity.
