The Nuffield Foundation and Scottish Government have agreed to support a new wave of the Edinburgh Study of Youth Transitions and Crime, led by Dr Lesley McAra (University of Edinburgh) and Susan McVie (SCCJR & University of Edinburgh). Starting in June 2009, this phase of the research will follow around 500 young people who were referred to the children’s hearing system on offence grounds into their early 20s to study in more detail their patterns of transition to the adult criminal justice system and continued involvement in or desistance from offending.  Further information about the study is available at http://www.law.ed.ac.uk/cls/esytc/
