The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) have made a short film to celebrate the impact of the ‘Desistance Knowledge Exchange’ (DesKE) project, which was runner up in the 2014 ‘ESRC Celebrating Impact Prize awards’. The project builds upon pioneering research into how offenders move away from crime, transforming the practice of offender rehabilitation in the UK and beyond.
The project lead is Professor Fergus McNeill (Scottish Centre for Crime and Justice Research, University of Glasgow), and other members of the project team include, Professor Stephen Farrall (University of Sheffield), Dr Claire Lightowler (Centre for Youth and Criminal Justice, University of Strathclyde.) and Professor Shadd Maruna (Institute of Criminology & Criminal Justice, Queen’s University Belfast).
