16th February 2009

This is the first call for papers for the 2009 SLS Conference.  The Conference will be held at Keele University from 7th to 10th September 2009, and the Criminal Justice sessions will take place on the 9-10th.  The Conference theme is ‘Advancing Legal Education: celebrating 100 years of legal scholarship’ – I attach a letter from the SLS President, Professor Fiona Cownie which discusses this theme. Your paper could either explore this theme in the context of any aspect of Criminal Law and/or Justice, or it could discuss any other issue connected to Criminal Justice.

Could interested members please submit a title and if possible an abstract of their paper to Damian Warburton damian.warburton@uwe.ac.uk by 6th March, or earlier if possible. If you intend to offer more than one paper, please inform both me and the convenor of the other section to which you are submitting an abstract.

Please note that presenters are required to register and pay the usual Conference fee – details can be found here: http://www.legalscholars.ac.uk/keele/indexcfm
