In January researchers at the University of Glasgow published survey findings which suggested 81% of women musicians in the Scottish folk music scene have been sexually assaulted or harassed. The team want to hear from organisations, collectives and stakeholders across Scotland’s folk, traditional and broader music scenes to share information about any activity, change or impact that has followed since our report was published.
Over the past six months, it has been remarkable to see the range of work taking place across the sector in response to the issues raised by the research. The report has, of course, not been alone in calling for change. Many organisations, collectives and people across the sector have long been working to make the folk and traditional music scene, and the wider Scottish music industry, safer and more inclusive.
The team is now seeking to capture a clearer picture of recent developments, including:
• activity or changes that have taken place
• any emerging evidence of positive impact
• work that is planned or underway
• ongoing challenges or barriers to change

A short form has been created to gather relevant information about this work. Responses can be as brief or as detailed as appropriate, and please do share the form with others who may have relevant information to contribute.
This is intended to recognise and capture the broader collective and ongoing effort taking place across the sector, of which the research project has been just one part. The information gathered will help build a clearer picture of recent developments and ongoing challenges, support future collaborative work, and inform a short, anonymised briefing for sector use.
