Why Does Scotland Lock Up So Many Young People?
This free event is an opportunity to further the general interests of reducing the use of imprisonment of young people in Scotland.
The vision is for local residents, especially young people and representatives of local groups to raise and discuss key issues among themselves and for local agencies to be involved in closer consultation.
Then national policy and practice should be informed from this process and other events like these.
This evening will be a crucial contribution to building a safer and stronger Scotland.
The journalists Lesley Riddoch, Kenneth Roy and Scotland’s Commissioner for Children and Young People, Tam Baillie, will help to focus the discussion and encourage wide participation in it.
Please note this event is free of charge and will start at 6pm sharp.
Refreshments will be available.
