Stephen Lawrence Day

Organised by the University of Staffordshire 

To mark Stephen Lawrence Day on 22 April 2021 the University of Staffordshire has organised an online event that seeks to review the impact Stephen’s story has had on policing so far, the media portrayal of this story, and the protests against police brutality and racially motivated violence against black people over the decades.

Keynote speaker Dr Derrick Campbell PH.D, MBA, DMS, QTLS, FCMI, FHEA Regional Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) Commissioner

Derrick is a consultant who has worked in the community for over 30 years. He has worked with young people to move them from crime to education; organisations to improve their culture, environment and effectiveness, inc. organisational design. He has worked both nationally and internationally and influenced change in national policy on youth affairs, EDI, social engagement and regulation.
