16 December 2008  The Centre for Economic & Social Inclusion is pleased to announce Offender Learning – The Way Ahead conference in association with APEX Scotland. The conference is offering an ideal platform for professionals in the Criminal Justice sector and beyond to have their say on the proposed developments surrounding offender learning.

The Scottish Government is committed to creating a cohesive skills strategy for offenders, ex-offenders and young offenders and to this end has created three working groups. These three groups have been tasked to review the current provision across this sector and to consult on the way forward. It is recognised that offender learning is a key component in reducing re-offending to the benefit of individuals, their children and families, the communities in which they live and wider society. This exciting and innovative approach needs your input to inform the debate and help shape the strategy.
