Garngad and police violence in the 1930s

In the 1930s Garngad (an area now known as Royston/Roystonhill in Glasgow) witnessed a series of violent clashes between local people and the police. Glasgow newspapers supported the police, denouncing ‘mob violence’ in the Garngad.

Dr Andrew Davies, University of Liverpool, will talk about the events, the men charged with riot in 1934 and the family stories handed down generations.
