Covid-19 and the US Criminal Justice System

The Department of Law at Goldsmiths University of London is delighted to announce that its annual criminal justice lecture will be delivered in collaboration with Berkeley Law, on June 4, 2020, via Zoom (the meeting details will be communicated to all participants prior to the event).

Berkeley Law’s Professor Andrea Roth and Professor Charles Weisselberg, will deliver the annual criminal justice lecture.

Professor Roth and Professor Weisselberg will analyse US criminal justice responses to Covid-19, including in relation to jury trials and the right to a speedy trial, confrontation during video proceedings, the effect of the pandemic in US prisons, procedures for compassionate release, and Covid-19 criminal prosecutions.
