Annual Scarman Lecture – Policing, Race and Criminology in the UK

Organised by the University of Leicester’s Criminology department

Using the Lammy Report, and a 20 minute introduction to some of its insights and larger implications by its author the Rt Honourable MP David Lammy as a conversation starter, this year’s Scarman Lecture hosted by the School of Criminology at the University of Leicester is an opportunity for a timely public-facing discussion between experts, professionals and criminologists about Policing, Race and Criminology in the UK in 2020.

Responding to the conversation-starter we have the Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police and head of Counter Terrorism, Mr Ian Hopkins. We also have panellists Dr Suzella Palmer and Dr Timi Osidipe from Bedfordshire University.
