This 1.5-hour online session with Dr Delanie Woodlock explores the impacts of researching domestic and sexual abuse. We will first take an exploratory and critical look at trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder. Then explore indirect trauma, including vicarious trauma, and how this can impact writing and research processes. The session concludes with practical strategies that researchers can implement to minimise the impacts of vicarious trauma and a discussion of evidence-based forms of self-care.
