This event is the second in the SCCJR’s ‘Just About…’ series, a new initiative that combines podcast and webinar formats to explore topical justice issues and to promote dialogue amongst academics, activists, practitioners and policymakers.

Each event begins with the live-streaming of a pre-recorded conversation (of about 30 minutes) involving a panel of people with relevant expertise. Afterwards, the panellists and the audience engage in further discussion (for about 45 minutes).

This second ‘podinar’ explores the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the experiences of people subject to imprisonment or community sentences.

The panel includes:

Natalie Logan Maclean, CEO of SISCO (Sustainable Interventions Supporting Change Outside),
Kevin Coyne, a Senior Volunteer for SISCO,
Dr Marguerite Schinkel, a Lecturer in Criminology at the University of Glasgow, and researcher for the ‘Scotland in Lockdown’ study.
The event will be hosted by Dr Steve Kirkwood from the University of Edinburgh.
Come and join us to explore the impact of the pandemic on those affected by the criminal justice system, and the broader questions this raises about justice in the contemporary world.
