Children and Families Affected by Domestic Abuse (CAFADA): Developing the evidence base for innovation in social care for children and families affected by domestic abuse
We would like to invite you to join us for a series of free webinars where we will share findings from the CAFADA Project. The eight lunchtime webinars will be held every day from Friday 20th – Friday 27th September 2024, with a range of speakers and topics.
The impact of domestic abuse on children and young people has been increasingly recognised, but we still lack well evidenced interventions to improve outcomes. Services are often encouraged to ‘innovate’ to address the needs of children and their families. The CAFADA project has produced a series of case studies of innovative responses to domestic abuse.
This large research project has been led by scholars and practitioners across several fields and disciplines (social work and social care, psychology, child wellbeing and youth work, education, policing, criminology), and features the input and insights of children and adults with lived experience.
Data was collected over four years in Scotland and England by a team of researchers led by Professor Jane Callaghan, University of Stirling, with the Universities of Edinburgh, Central Lancashire, and Gloucestershire.
