Mr David Morran
Lecturer
University of Stirling
Bio
In David’s earlier career as a social worker he worked in a men’s prison and also as a Senior Development Officer with Sacro, where he was involved in setting up probation projects and support services for young men.
His interest in offending, and responses to offending, developed further when he jointly established the first court-mandated groupwork programme in the UK for convicted domestic violence offenders.
His main research interests are violence, interventions with men who are violent, and approaches to men whose behaviour is problematic. His publication ‘From Fear to Freedom: Masculinity Control and Change’ (Venture Press, 2009) is aimed at professionals working with men and also directly at men whose abusive behaviour is causing concern for themselves and others.
