Dr Catriona Connell
University of Stirling
Catriona is a Research Fellow at the Salvation Army Centre for Addictions Services and Research, at the University of Stirling.
Prior to joining the University of Stirling in June 2021, Catriona was an NIHR Clinical Doctoral Research Fellow completing research with people screened into the Offender Personality Disorder Pathway whilst working in clinical practice. She has worked investigating the reasons some people are detained for long periods in forensic mental health hospitals in Europe.
Catriona is committed to research that improves the health and social outcomes of poorly serviced groups, by better understanding their experiences and developing interventions. This includes people who use alcohol and drugs, experience homelessness and poor mental health, and who may have involvement with the justice
Catriona has experience as an occupational therapist in NHS mental health services, working mainly with those also involved in the justice.
