Working Title of PhD: An exploration of how young people experience the effects of the imprisonment of a family member

Synopsis: This research will explore the experience of young people, aged 16 -21 years, who have a family member in prison. Taking a narrative approach, the research will consider the stories told by the participants and the social and political context within which those stories have occurred. The research will consider whether the participants’ narratives have implications for Scottish criminal justice policy.
