Thesis Title: Victims of Crime in Scotland: examining the causes, 
consequences and impact of criminal victimisation through Scottish 
Crime and Justice Survey Data

Abstract: My thesis  aims to expand current knowledge of the factors 
associated with an increased risk of victimisation, the impact of 
crime on victims, as well as factors which may influence the uptake of 
available services, from a uniquely Scottish perspective. This will be 
done by an in depth analysis of individual and community level 
variables hypothesized to not only affect the initial risk of 
victimisation but how a victim progresses through the criminal justice 
system.
