Working Title of PhD: Observing the Implementation of Community Payback Orders through the Experiences of Sheriffs and Social Workers:

Summary: My research concerns the implementation of the Criminal Justice and Licensing (Scotland) Act 2010, specifically with regards to Community Payback Orders (CPO), by social work teams and sheriffs in Glasgow. My overall aim is to investigate how the Act is interpreted in practice by social workers and sheriffs in their new collaborative relationship formulating the substance of CPOs in the support of the reparative realignment of non custodial sentencing in Scotland.
