About

I am a senior lecturer in law at the University of Glasgow, which I joined in 2007, having previously worked at the School of law in the University of Aberdeen.  I teach on the introductory criminal law and evidence course and the honours couses in criminal justice and criminal law.  I have undertaken a number of research projects for the Scottish Executive on aspects of the Scottish criminal justice system.  The most recent are an evaluation of the pilot victim statement schemes and an evaluation of the reforms of High Court procedure introduced in the Criminal Procedure (Amendment) (Scotland) Act 2004.  At present, I am working on a research project for the Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission's 10th anniversary.  Before coming to work in law, I used to work as a market researcher.
