Centre staff have longstanding interests in analysing all aspects of private sector involvement in penal institutions and practices. This project heading collects together numerous aspects of that interest and provides a means of finding relevant research on the topic.   • Commodification of Offender Management
    This is the draft version of a paper, co-authored by Trish McCulloch (Dundee) and Fergus McNeill (Glasgow), published in Criminology and Criminal Justice 7(3):223-242. Set in the context of Bauman's analysis of consumer society, it explores the extent to which offender management services and practices in the UK are becoming commodified and explores some of the implications of this process.
