Synopsis: Beth is researching LGBT rights. Her PhD focuses on how the experiences of transgender witnesses and victims of crime can be improved. This research recognises that despite high levels of victimisation amongst transgender people, they are less likely than others to access support services and to report crimes. This PhD seeks to offer accounts of transgender experience of the criminal justice system while also providing recommendations for how the system can better recognise and support transgender witnesses and victims of crime.
